The relationship drama was stupid and took precedent over the crimes and also why make a third book about how incompetent someone is only to not deal with it when the entire set up is that someone is going to deal with it?

The entire issue with the relationships is a refusal to communicate 🙄

I hate Jeffrey, sorry, if your name is Jeffrey that's a red flag for me.
I liked the will Trent universe, I like Sarah, I think I'll keep reading more of the series (not sequentially and only books after this one, because I tried to listen to an earlier installment and it was meh moving backwards with Will and Sarah's relationship)

The latest instalment of the Will Trent series. Although this could be a Jeffrey Tolliver book too. It was a great to go back in to that world of Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver and it made me love Will Trent even more and made me less sad Sara had lost her husband. The crime and thriller element took me a little while to realise but it was all worth it.
In true Karin Slaughter style the graphic detail is not for the faint hearted but she excels at making you feel and understand what kind of pain the victims and their families must be suffering with her use of language and story telling.

This is my first Slaughter novel and let me just say that I LOVED IT! She gets right to the point and keeps it entertaining with never a dull moment. Even though I guessed who the killer was close towards the end, Slaughter’s writing made it enjoyable to read.
