My only thought is that there wasn't enough Will in the story.

Good, but a little too descriptive with the gore for me

Another banger from Karin Slaughter. This series is truly getting better and better. This is due to the author's amazing ability to create such unique and well flashed out characters. You feel like you know them, like they are real. This is why when they do something stupid, or something horrible happens to them, you just care and want to find out the outcome. Although quite long, these books are very fast paced and easy to read. Well, maybe not that easy - definitely check trigger warnings as some of the descriptions are not so graphic, it made me feel very uneasy.

Story told in dual timeline connecting us yet again to Grant County. If you haven't read that series, it would be a good time to read it now to find out what happened (major spoilers for Grant County series).

There’s a lot of disturbing violence and medical descriptions but the plot and procedural is compelling. The characters are flawed and dysfunctional but it works.

Although I did figure out who the killer was about the middle of the book it still was a very good read.

Ya’ll know I love this author. And as usual, I had a hard time putting her book down. I wasn’t as hooked on this one as much as Slaughter’s others, though, and was sort of meh about the answer to the whodunnit.

Fair warning, this was probably the most difficult one of her books as far as stomaching the content - she did not shy away from brutal details of the serial killer/rapist and the terror he inflicted upon women.

So though I don’t feel like my time was wasted on this one, it wouldn’t be my first recommendation compared to the other great works Slaughter has produced.
