Captivating the whole way through. Consistency in the different timelines. A lot of gorey details of murders. Another Karin Slaughter great read. Still unsure of the title tying in though..

Once again I drop into a series without being aware of it!
the character development is so well done that I didn't mind stepping into book #10.
Good police mystery.

Karin Slaughter has done it again. It was really interesting to read in the author’s note how Slaughter has adjusted the timeline of the series because—hey, it’s fiction. Instead of 19 years elapsing between Blindsighted and this book only eight have passed. It makes it all much more modern and makes Will’s and Sara’s relationship and timeline make a little more sense. I just think that’s neat. I also love this bit in the author’s note: “I bet you guys didn’t notice that I’ve been secretly writing love stories. Really gritty, violent love stories, but still.” And that sums up a lot of why I love this series. I can’t wait to read more when they come out.

So what do I think about this book. I think I wasn't a fan of half of the book and I loved the other half so three stars works. I loved the storyline that followed Jeffrey and Sara and then I was just uninterested in the line with Will Trent. As I said in my comments along the way. I'm not a fan of Will Trent. To ME he just comes off way too goody two shoes a Gary Sue if you will. To me. Yes they showed him with some WTF flaw moments, but they were kind of like small stuff to me. The type that don't really count at all.

I did enjoy following everyone in the present storyline, ignoring the love line that got thrown in. I think of it like what they do in movies you know they have that subplot of a romantic device so that guys and girls can take their significant other who like cheesy lovey dovey movies to see with them. Oooh Brother! I hate it. Give me the horror movie or action or whatever. If I want a love story I'll look for that. Anyway end vent!

The actual mystery of the Serial Killer was fun. I loved that. And Sara pouring that stuff down the toilet. 😂 I laughed far too loud at that. I liked the line with Jeff because you get to see everything play out entirely and see if he was or he wasn't.

I didn't like the ending to who actually did everything it was just so rushed so felt like she couldn't explain how it had all happened so she just had them monologue it. Come on Karin. I also did not enjoy that one person who you find out is literally just one of those plot devices sent there to move the story along but really has no need to be there. SPOILER!!! SPOILER!!! SPOILER!!! SPOILER!!! Did  you honestly think you would get off on pedophile charges regardless what you had. It's funny because he really thought that. Yikes spikes!!

All in all the actual thriller and mystery part of this book was as good as Karin gives it was gorey and disgusting and that mother suckers was disgusting. Because you needed comfort. Just makes my eye twitch and my butt itch.
