the gory details were immaculate & an absolutely spectacular whodunnit reveal but how do we spend 10 books hyping up how brilliant sarah linton is for her to be this silly …

also was nifty to get a look into jeffrey’s life bc i’ve not read the other grant county books.

I feel like I wasn’t in the right headspace/mood to read this. I listened to it on audiobook and it was I think too long for me to like as an audiobook. There was also a lot of moving parts and characters. If I read it again I would read it on Kindle so I could use X-ray. Will definitely give the author another try in a different format

Another gem! First thing's first: I do not understand the title of this book. At all.

BUT it doesn't detract from how amazing the story itself is. We get so much Will and Sara here, so much dealing with the past and not just skating by it. I'm so glad Karin Slaughter assured us in the post-script that there are more W+S stories to come, because I need them.

Per usual, super, super dark, graphic and intense - but in the best ways. This book was gripping. I was doing a lot of guessing and second-guessing on the Whodunnit of it all until the profile was discussed, then it clicked immediately (which is arguably still a bit of a late discovery).

Karin Slaughter never, ever disappoints. Five stars and then some.

2.5 stars. It was pretty good however this is my first book of hers I’m reading. I hadn’t realized these characters were in many other books with lost of past. That made the book a little confusing at the beginning but that could be my fault. Lots of trigger warnings in this especially sa described many times in-depth it was honestly a little weird how detailed the author got on that topic.

A good story, but a few weird spelling mistakes pulled me out of the story throughout the book. But don't let those stop you from enjoying the story, they only tripped me up for a moment! I haven't read the other books in the series, and I would definitely pick them up now.
