Was good with the back and forth, but i just wasnt really curious on who the killer was. Might be due to my own personal mood. Overall good, but not for me.

Another mystery from Karin Slaughter that I couldn’t put down. Ending just left a little bit to be desired in my opinion, no spoilers of course.
Yes, I realize I’m in the minority here with my lower review! It had a general James Patterson-esque feel to it, and normally I fly through his books. However, this book did not keep me as engaged as his typically do. I muddled through the first 3/4 or so of it. About 1/4 of the way through I felt invested enough to keep going and find out “whodunnit”, and started skimming through parts. This is my second read by Karin Slaughter and I didn’t love the other one either. I think there’s just a connection missing for me in her writing. It’s probably not her... it’s me

If you started with the Grant County series and then moved on to the Will Trent series this book will be a pure delight! That’s all I can say without spoiling it! Loved it
While I love Karin Slaughter and will always read her books, I did struggle a bit with this one. I found it confronting and brutal reading about the crimes. And that ending! I was not expecting the villain to be who it was. That was shocking.
