People are immediately using the astral plane for porting to places to kill and seemingly be killed. This is not an appropriate use of the astral plane and should not be the very first thing we learn about a group of characters that we are meant to deal with long term.

Great premise poorly executed. Plot started to meander very early on. It ended prematurely and abruptly.
There's loads of books in the series so I assume they get better.

A quick, easy read, but not in a good way. There is zero character development, zero world building, zero climax, zero explanation of motives or even the purpose behind actions. It’s written like a bad high school creative writing assignment; the dialogue in particular is horrific. Nothing unique in the entire book.

Interesting world love the concept and love it being set in the west end of Glasgow.
Fast paced got hooked very quickly, good as an easy read for someone that likes YA fantasy.
