I almost stopped reading this book after 40 pages - if I read one more time about how they were kings in the city, everything was up to them, everyone feared them etc etc, pls make it stop.
Well done!!
The Psycho truly has it all.... suspense, revenge, a fiercely independent heroine and a sexy as hell hero! Olivia & Adam were a great couple, they fit all their broken pieces together and it was great to read! I look forward to continuing this series.
I really enjoyed the detailed explanations and internal dialogue. I never questioned the meaning of anything, the author did a great job of making this an easy and clear read.
PS ... The Dark Room was HOT!!

Okay- this was a difficult decision to dnf because it wasn't bad. None of the triggers caused it and the MCs were fine. Started off good- morally gray vigilante-ish MMC, cool. And the first couple of times we meet the FMC, she seems to be her own version of bad ass...but then not much happens for a good chunk. We learn more about the MCs individually, but very little interaction happens between them in the span of several months during this time.
He stalks her. They text lightweight banter (occasionally something deep is thrown into their conversation). She thinks she's manipulating him in a game that doesn't make sense if she genuinely doesn't want his attention. Months- this is all that happens for months with them. HALF of the book. gah.
He stabs someone's hand that talks trash to her and she freaks. She goes to confront him and then chickens out. He comes to her place to have a big talk, but then all they do is eat pizza and watch a movie. They kiss the next morning (this is almost 60% of the way into the book: it had potential, they have potential to be H-O-T), but they're interrupted.
Some light texts back and forth- she's going to go back to meet with him at his place (house on same compound as his club). She gets to the private entrance. One of his soldiers meets her and brings her to an assistant to start filling out contracts and discuss hard limits. Wait, what?!
Seriously- that's not an issue with me. What pulled me right out of the book at this point is the continued lack of communication between these two. We finally had a kiss and now we're jumping into a surprise contract discussion with strangers when the FMC just got on board with giving this a shot?
IDK- that just frustrated me and I can't get back into the book now. There was so much potential and the miscommunication trope vibes is not my thing. Saw one of the spicy scene teases on TT and went direct to KU. Never got to that scene. And, again, I'm sure once they do get there...it will be hot. I just couldn't anymore at just over 60%...

Slow burn /Dark Romance
I really was not sure what to expect with this book, the author is still very new to me. However I truly enjoyed Adam and Olivia! Adam (MMC)is the classic gritty take what I want, possessive alphahole. But he also stalks her until he convince Olivia she is his. Olivia (FMC) the good girl with an edge from the better side of town, she does not give in easy. The tension is there from the beginning but it’s a slow burn. It does get steamy with some fun role play. The story also has a slightly darker thrill edge to it, so some twists happen towards the end. 18+/TW

and Liv, shes a BA.. we all know I love my BA women who dont NEED no man. I love how their story comes full circle (no spoilers dont worry). I binged this book in one sitting today & i would highly recommend it to fullfill all your hot stalker fantasies!
