MY FAVORITE FROM THE SERIES SO FAR! Honestly seeing Luca as a dad just made my freaking day and having his POV made the book 10 times better, I also love Luca and Aria as a couple way more after this book. I was living for all the Matteo content he’s the funniest guy ever I love him.
So I read the first book, Bound by Duty, and the companion from Luca's point of view because I liked the characters and thought, yeah, let's give them some more story.
I almost gave up halfway through.
I haven't read any of the other books in the series and from reading other reviews, I don't have to. I had huge issues with the jumping all over the place of the timeline. At one point it was new years, and then it was Christmas? Then months later? It just kind of smacked of lazy storytelling. I appreciate a dual narrative but I was getting bored reading the same scene from two view points. There were also numerous errors that should have been caught in editing.
As others mentioned, I got really fed up with Aria and her poor decision making. She didn't learn from her mistakes at all until the very end. It was nice to see some growth in Luca though. Despite his bullheadedness, he was my favourite character throughout. I wanted to get to the end to see what would happen to him.
All in all... I can't wholeheartedly recommend this book. If you read the others, you can probably skim the first half of the novel.

Another great audio ‘read’ from Cora Reily. Was an excellent end the the made men books. I love Luca so much, even if he did pi$$ me off sometimes in this.
❤️Mafia
❤️Marriage in trouble
❤️Lots of familiar characters

This book loses one start only because Aria is a fucken idiot.
If you liked the other stories in this series you love this one too. It is told through Aria and Luca’s POV (with like three from Matteo) about what happens between them during Gianna and Lilly’s books, then the aftermath of both of them.
I did like reading about Aria and Luca again. They did make me fall in love with the series. I was a little upset that Aria kept making the same mistakes throughout the book though, mainly helping her sisters at the expense of Luca. In the other books it doesn’t really show how stupid Aria is for helping them, and how most of the time it’s needlessly put her in danger and upset Luca.
Idk there were several points in the book I was kinda like wtf is wrong with you.
I liked Luca’s perspective. It is very much exactly what I expected from him, and surprisingly not all that whiny, which is what usually happens when the male in a story gets his perspective focused on. Maybe it was evened out by Aria. But in my experience the guys story tends to make me wanna shoot myself cos they just whine about the girl in their life and make stupid choices. But this one wasn’t bad and I didn’t feel the usual dread when his chapters appeared.
I also liked that we got to see a bit of the mafia side of the story, since everything is told from the girls perspective and they don’t really know anything, it was quite interesting and made me more appreciative of Luca and his struggles to balance Aria and the ‘Family’.
Anyways. I enjoyed the book and am now keen to read about Fabiano’s story
