I like following the point of view of a girl in need of power. We see her becoming more and more poweful and respected. We see her follow her anger and her desire of power. The only thing I liked less was the fact she she is to stubborn to listen to real good advice.  

it was obvious that following the path of the god was a bad idea, but she dit it anyway. Now all we have to do is wait and see her regret her new deadly powers

The book is good, but there is a lot of TW. Be careful. The war scenes (including rape, torture, fights, kidnappings, etc.) are fully described. Lot of blood, bones and organs. Lot of trauma. Be aware.

What. The. Hell. 

This book was... Intense. It was brutally intense and dark with such graphic depictions of various kinds of violence. I was even more surprised to learn that the events in this book was inspired by real-life events... It makes you realize just how horrible and disgusting humans can be. 

Needless to say, this book could be a struggle to read what with the long chapters, the lengthy explanations, and the brutality. But it's divided into three parts and can easily be read if you stick to three parts a day like I did. 

The characters, in my opinion, were unlikeable, frankly because they were damaged in various ways and had revenge and murder on their minds. This is a not a book of heroes and hope but rather of villains and anti-heroes and just pure bloodshed. Don't read this if you want happy outcomes and witty banter. It won't be for you. 

Aside from this, I found myself completely immersed in this world and found myself often pausing to mumble "holy crap" every few seconds. It's a crazy read to undergo but well worth it.

Loved this book from the very beginning. The writing makes it come to life and the characters are so vivid in their descriptions.
The one thing I would say is to take the trigger warnings seriously. Every single tw I can think of applies to this book in gruesome, graphic ways, so just beware of this before reading.

It is a bit tropey towards the beginning but this does not take away from the story and fades away after the first few chapters.
