In this installment, we see Artemis coming to the aid of demonkind, the seventh fairy race that has become lost in time due to a warlock spell gone wrong. The Artemis Fowl series continues to get more complex with each book. The time travel element is surely confusing to its younger readers. And now we have an aged Artemis with a stronger connection to Holly Short. Can't wait to see their continuing adventures together.

I love Artemis Fowl, and I'm starting to think that the series can do no wrong. After the loss of Julius Root in the last book, this book really ramps up the more "adult" feelings. Artemis enter puberty, we see the introduction of a number of new characters, we feel real senses of loss. Its just an excellent expansion to the world the series has created. The twists and turns are really exceptional, in my opinion, and this particular one might be one of my favorites in the series.

The perfect book for a family to sit down to read together.

When I was reading this book, I thought it was a 3 star-rating because the plot wasn't that good but the ending was better than I thought. I loved Minerva and I think Butler is the best chara in this series.

This was one of the best books I've ever read! Series-wide, Artemis Fowl is a pretty awesome kid/teen, but in this book, he enters puberty. Guess what that means? Girls!
What makes it better is that the whole book isn't about him obsessing over this one girl that completes him and makes life worth living and blah blah blah. Nope, he shoves it to the side aside so that he can focus on saving the world. It does come back now and then though, but I think that it suited the book well. In the end, very memorable book, especially since it's the first book in the series to feature time traveling!
