I'm not gonna lie, I expected a little more from this book. I still found it enjoyable to read, and I'm not sure exactly what I expected, but it wasn't this.
This is not a memoir. It's honestly more "self-help"-ish than anything. I definitely didn't think when I read this book it was going to be as religious as it was, and it came off a little preachy. There were definitely some good tidbits throughout, though.
As expected, Kristin Chenoweth is hilarious in the audio version of this book, but the physical copy has little activities the reader can fill out. I would personally recommend the audiobook, but if you want more of an interactive read, go for the physical version.
I think this book is mainly for people who are already fans of Kristin Chenowith. So if you're not, I'd skip this one.

a bit silly at times. very kristin. very cute. i was moved by page 158 where she discusses loss. i won’t include the whole paragraph but i will quote the end: “whatever it is you’ve lost, you won’t get it back. it’s gone. but something else will be revealed”
I usually start audiobooks at 2x speed but I was not surprised that I had to listen to this even slower. Kristin Chenoweth seems like she farms energy or has sold her soul to Ursula for a singing voice and no need for caffeine
This had less personal insight than I expected - I would say this is about 60% personal stories, 5% bible references, and 35% slightly edited but still true-to-self yapping
I wish the foreword would have been recorded by Ariana but it was still a beautiful note on this book. Listening to this post-Wicked Part 1 felt serendipitous

I thought this book was going to be a biography of Kristin’s life, but instead it was a book that focused on reflections on certain aspects of life. In these reflections, Kristin shared personal stories of her life and her faith. I was initially surprised by how much religious content was in this book, but I eventually grew to understand and appreciate the format of the book. I listened to the audiobook, which I would highly recommend because there are moments where Kristin sings, and I think it’s much better to hear her voice. If you enjoy Broadway, Kristin, short reflections, and discussions of faith - you’ll love this book!

It’s very much all the energy of who she is, which I like, but it’s a lot to listen to, especially when this is a litany of likes, dislikes, and rambling thoughts at such a high rate of energy. There’s also way to much god, yikes. I don’t think this workbook or collection of prayers is needed anywhere but there were a few quotes I like and maybe some find it useful.
I enjoyed this book for the short stories/essays from her life. I found lots of interesting tidbits. But, I found the intersection of full-page quotes and prayers annoying. I want to read the few pages of the short story without interruption! Though I will say that some of the little exercises and quotes were cute. Just wish they were better chapters, rather than interspersed in them. Overall, this is a fun, lighthearted book that is refreshing and different from other books.
Super quick and easy read. If you are a broadway or Kristin Chenoweth fan, you will enjoy this book. I could hear her reading it to me because the writing is so conversational and easy to follow. Kristin shares stories of her childhood, failures, career, and life that are both heartwarming, encouraging, and funny.
