It's official men written by Kandi Steiner are better than real life men. Holden is absolutely everything you'd want in a man and more. He is gentle, he is kind, he is driven and he knows what he wants. Oh and did I mention he is a Quarterback, how much more swoony could you get? Not to mention he is a literal angel on earth. And then you can't forget about Julep who is Holden's head coaches daughter who is very much so off limits to him but she falls first but he falls harder and they have to navigate the obstacles that come along with that. I loved this book so much and I really love how Kandi depicted some of the harder topics like grief in this and how both characters shared their experiences with each other to help each other grow not only solo and but grow together. I couldn't put this book down and I will forever read any sports romance written by Kandi Steiner. Especially football ones!

THIS BOOK!!!!

i rarely feel like books are perfectly paced with the most perfect smut amount and the most perfect characters + side characters.

definitely one of the books i would like to be buried with <3

the struggles and grief that our characters goes through were depicted so well and so real, i genuinely felt for them with just how the author wrote and approached this subject.

the character developments of both holden and julep were done so so well and i love every second of reading this. i’m so thankful my booksta friends recommended me this book!

i WILL be reading rest of the books!

favorite in the series by far!!! holden is literally an angel who has such a humongous heart doing anything he can for his teammates and loved ones. he went through more than imaginable and was still loved life, was so positive, so selfless and a great leader :’) getting his pov and seeing him falling down bad for julep immediately made me love him even more than when i got his preview in the other books. julep what a beautiful soul that i just wanted to hug

A new lease on Life

Kandi's brought me to tears once again.
This story and its characters were so compelling and authentic.
The depiction of their personal struggles, and their individual reactions in dealing with grief had me crying and reminiscing in equal measures. Once you know the loss of a cherished love one, especially when their death occurred in traumatic circumstances, the pain never really goes away, and it can change you.
Seeing these characters' raw and heart wrenching emotions on page was both therapeutic, and moving.
I loved that Holden and Julep worked together to find joy. Being seen, loved and valued is so inherent to how we see ourselves. I enjoyed watching Julep blossom and bloom under Holden's watchful, tending hands, just as if she were part of his treasured garden.
