An otherwise decently written story which was let down by poor pacing. The exciting bits were exciting and the dull bits were dull, but unfortunately the latter far outweighed the former.
Juliet's often witty and somewhat cynical inner monologue was enjoyable at first but got tiresome after about 200 pages - she literally moans about everything and there wasn't enough development of her character for me to find it in any way endearing.
The ending threw in too many factors which had not been given time to breathe in the main plot, so felt rushed and deux-ex-esque.
Worst of the 3 Atkinson novels I have read but certainly not so poor that I have been put off reading any more of hers.

In 1970, a woman looks back on her days working for MI-5, recalling the terrible secrets she learned while she tries to deduce who is following and threatening her now, and why.
This got such mixed reviews. While it didn't bowl me over with emotional truths the way some of Atkinson's other books have, I found it an engaging -- and surprisingly funny -- novel. The audiobook narrator was great. The BBC plotline was a bit weak.

Fake TV Jackson Brodie or maybe really I'm talking about Jason Isaacs

This one. This ain't no Jackson Brodie and I'm very cranky about that.

Not a bad listen. Probably wouldn't seek out the author again.
I adore all her books but admit I had a hard time following this one, maybe that was the point
I love Kate (rhymes with great) Atkinson's books. Love the light, easy way she gets us inside the narrator's head and into his/her thoughts. I really liked this book, but was disappointed in the ending.
Came highly recommended on a MMD podcast. How disappointing and Boring!
I enjoyed this but not as much as some of Kate Atkinson's other novels (Life After Life, Behind the Scenes...). As one of my favourite authors I was vaguely disappointed with this novel and found the ending quite confusing. It's still a good read in itself though.
