Lovely. Great balance of laugh out loud moments and pathos, many awkward moments that we can all relate to in some form. Found it courtesy of a GoodReads challenge called Essential Reader
I was enjoying this book until she hooked up with Ben and moved in to the flat with the girls. And then it seemed to go off the rails. Naïveté can be charming but Maddie was bordering on flat out ignorance. Suddenly she’s drinking, eating pot brownies and then smoking a joint? When the family emergency occurs and she emails her boss she won’t be in - wasn’t she going on vacation that week? These may be small things but attention to detail when telling a story is important and for all the money and time poured into getting this book on the shelves and all the pub it generated, be consistent and get stuff right. Back to the library - another much hyped book that I am so glad I did not shell out cash for.
I don’t know how to rate this book. All I know is it was sad and I was unprepared to be so sad
I just could not get emotionally invested in this character. I got bored.

This book was amazing. I really enjoyed reading it. I loved the main character and reading through her growth and feelings. Definitely recommend this one!
