A deeply relatable graphic novel that explores growing up, finding yourself, and learning to value what you bring to the table.
For fans of Raina Telgemeier, Lucy Knisley, and Svetlana Chmakova.

What a delightful read! Nat is entering middle school, and she can't wait to get the school year started with her best friend. However, things take a surprise turn when out-of-the-blue her best friend decides she no longer wants to be Nat's friend. Instead, she has befriended the most popular girl in their class and wants absolutely nothing to do with Nat. Devastated, Nat makes several attempts to win her best friend back(with no luck). Friendless, Nat must figure out who she is and who her real friends are. I highly recommend this book for girls ages 10 to 12 who are preparing to transition to middle school. It really is a positive example of how girls can deal with rejection and changing social circles.

Middle school can be hard on friendships and if you weren’t a dumper, you probably got dumped. It’s a time of shaking up the relationship, with others and with self. The book does an excellent job of showing Nat’s efforts at both retaining old friendships, making new ones and exploring her own gifts.

I really loved this graphic novel! I thought it had such a great theme! I also love the artwork as well! It works very well with the story! Books like this needs to be written more often so the kids today know how to be great humans!

A great beginner graphic novel for those kids who don’t think they’re enough. This will be popular in my library because it reminds me of Sveltlana Chmakova, Raina Telgemeier, Terri Libenson and Rachel Renee Russell’s books which I can’t keep on the shelf. Perfect for 2nd-6th grades.
