This was just unnecessary. We know what happens to Adena in the first book, so why did we need this hot garbage? To endear her to us only to have her ripped away? If it was a story of how she and Pey met, that would have been one thing... but this was crap.

For such a short book, it is devastating, especially with knowing the ending. It felt a bit like a filler episode but I appreciate it for giving more backstory to some of the characters.
