Being a Scot myself I found this an enjoyable read. I am passionate about the rich history of Scotland, however I found myself skimming over the self promotion and outlander references.

I had this book on my tablet but ultimately chose to listen to it via Audible. Disclaimer: I only made it through the first 2 1/2 books of Outlander( I read it for my interest in Scotland not for all the characters). I watched the first 3 season of the TV show and probably will watch more for characters . I loved Men in Kilts -The TV show based on Clanlands before listening to Clanlands So I knew what to expect with this book. I appreciated the history of the clans- in particular Graham‘s knowledge and Sam’s enthusiasm. A fun road trip through the history of Scotland ( as well as learning much about these two men). I was just at a Highland games last week, and enjoyed the bagpipes . It got me back into this book that I put aside a few weeks ago.
A rollicking romp through the Scottish highlands - super fun to listen to
Listened to the audiobook. Entertaining and some interesting history.
Definitely not literature, but I did truly enjoy this book. The banter between the two men is quite entertaining, and caused me to laugh out loud a couple of times. Combining that with a beautiful scenery, an interesting history, and a crappy camper van, and you’ve gotten yourself an eclectic mix in this travel memoir.
This is definitely worth the time to listen to the audiobook.
