If you want to read this book you MUST buy the audio version as well. It’s so much better to listen to Sam and Graham tell you their story. It’s so much more funny. I love the Outlander show and the books. So this was a must read for me. It didn’t disappoint.
I love both Sam and Graham. As well as, Outlander. This truly is best experienced via the audiobook. It is hilarious, witty, educational, passionate and honestly is an adventure like no other.
As much an Outlander journey as a clan history one with several cast showing up at various points and many hilarious stories. Will forever know Graham from now on as Lady McTavish. Hope they do another journey.

I imagine reading this book would be amazing, but listening to it being read by Sam and Graham added another level of amazing. A great mix of history, humor and friendship.

I love Outlander the show (and have read the first book) so reading a book by these two was a delight. I laughed out loud so many times and enjoyed going on an adventure through the highlands (somewhere I’ve unfortunately never been before but mean to someday) with them. I think I also need to listen to the audiobook because I can imagine just how much more funny it would be.

First of all, it is absolutely required that you listen to this book as an audiobook. This book is meant to be heard like a conversation with Sam and Graham (with a lot of bickering between the two) and that experience can't be replicated by reading their words on a page. The audiobook allows you to not only hear their beautiful voices, but to hear their vocal impressions of the various people they meet, which constantly delighted me.
For the most part, Clanlands put a smile on my face. It's part Scottish history, part behind-the-scenes of Men in Kilts and Outlander, and part stroll down memory lane with both men as they share stories from their careers and personal lives. It's also a whole lot of bickering and teasing between the two men.
If you're not a big fan of Sam and Graham, or of Outlander, then this book probably isn't for you. Also, despite this book being released prior to the show, I highly recommend watching Men in Kilts before reading the book - it was so much more enjoyable knowing the people they were talking about because I had already seen the show.
Overall, this was a really enjoyable listening experience. I spent a lot of time laughing out loud and it made me want to re-watch Men in Kilts.
