I'm a huge fan of Outlander and I've been enjoying the show Men in Kilts, so naturally I decided to check out the book. I listened to the audio version and I honestly don't think the book would be the same if I had read it. I think you would misinterpret a lot of the jokes and sarcasm, plus it doesn't hurt to listen to someone with a Scottish accent read to you for 10 hours. I loved the historical aspect of the book, but some of the tangents they would go on got pretty boring, and they told the same jokes over and over and over. I started to lose interest in the book halfway through and only really stuck it out because I'm a big fan. If you aren't a fan of Outlander, don't bother with this book.

DID NOT FINISH: 18%

Boring, the writing is subpar, and it’s just actors stroking their egos.
funny informative slow-paced

I couldn’t finish this book but really did try. I like outlander and like the concept of travelling through Scotland learning about the history but the misogynistic jokes throughout got to be too much and took away from the stories they were telling.
funny informative lighthearted reflective medium-paced

The audiobook for this is great fun, especially during the pandemic.

Fantastic! Outlander, history, fun, whisky and more! Everything you could hope it could be and more.

Definitely would recommend as an audiobook or with an audio accompaniment if reading, it was fun to hear their banter (and accents). If you are a fan of the tv show Outlander or Sam and Graham’s own show Men in Kilts you will enjoy. It gave some background on both shows and went into some Scottish history too.
