I highly recommend this as an audiobook for any fan of the Outlander series. It is narrated by Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish.

Made me laugh. They are great to listen to. This was a companion to the shows, outlander and men in kilts but you don’t need to watch the show to read this. But was not thrilled by the low key stalking some fans do or the up-skirting at cons.

A fun ride

This was a light-hearted and fun book with some bonus Scottish history ... A great choice for any outlander fan.

This most definitely was not my thing. It was my final summer reading swap book, and it was so hard for me to get through. Don't get me wrong, the Scottish history was interesting and Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish had some great banter. Maybe I would have liked it better if I'd actually seen Outlander?

It fits with the theme of friendship, though! Also, I now want to go visit Scotland and see more of it than I did last time. Maybe someday!

Absolutely charming. A delightful blend of witty banter, history lesson and a love letter to Scotland. I have the audio version too that I will be listening to later as well - Scottish accents. I learned a little about Scottish history and the only real downside to this book is that I want to visit Scotland even more (But ah well Covid and no money are stopping that from happening) and I really want to try Sassenach Whisky and I am stuck in Canada where it is not available. This was the perfect book to read when you are feeling down as I don't know, it just left me feeling more hopeful and grateful to be alive. I also have a new crush to add to my list, yup Graham McTavish my friends, love me the bald ones and he looks lovely in a kilt too. You young ens can take Sam -- he is way too adventurous for me. Now off to go get me some Whiskey.

"Until it's James VII's (James II of England) tur to mess everything up again by converting to Catholicism, which gets the English Protestants' knickers in a twist, so they depose him in 1688 and install first cousins from the House of Hanover, William and Mary, meaning inbreeding was totally fine just so long as they weren't Catholics!"

Clan lands is great for an Outlander fans. The beginning especially was full of stories from Sam’s and Graham’s filming of Outlander — but eases up as you go along. They really take you through a lot of different parts of Scottish culture and history — perfect for getting a nice snapshot of Scotland. I read this before a trip to Scotland (upcoming) and it helped me figure out some sights I definitely want to see.
