These are just so sweet and comforting. I think I’d like to reread. I think… I didn’t get enough personality from either character but I still enjoyed it.
However, Vlad is still my fave.

Finally! I was about to give up on this series as I didn’t really enjoy the last few books, but this one was engaging. I liked the character of Colton Wheeler, the country singer, and thought his conflicts were interesting and believable. However, Gretchen got in her own way a lot and was hard to like. I’m noticing that I like all of the guys in this series and could honestly care less about all of the female characters, which is odd.
Overall, this had a good plot and a nice Christmasy touch. (But I think the author beat the proverbial dead horse with the Christmas Carol comparisons.)

I liked this series and this book. The only reason I felt like I couldn’t give it five stars was because I felt like some of the characters backgrounds had a lot of potential and weren’t fully capitalized on. There were aspects of their upbringings that I wanted more info on and never got. But overall I liked it

It's the Christmas season, but Gretchen, an immigration attorney, is having none of it. Her estranged and dysfunctional family puts on a glamorous show for Christmas - but all without heart.
Country superstar Colton Wheeler is trying to reignite is career, but he's without inspiration and can't stop thinking of an acquaintance he hooked up with last year, Gretchen. As Colton schemes ways to capture Gretchen's heart and change her Scrooge-like hatred of Christmas, the Bromance Book Club guys and their ladies will do all they can to help.
I loved this Christmas story from the Bromance series. Adams doesn't shy away from heavier topics like abuse, but she does come through with the requisite happy ending.

3.5 Stars
While the romance was decent, some of the plot points were not tied up satisfactorily. I also expected more attention to the holidays because of the title and cover. That on top of the lack of humor from the previous book left me wanting more.
I think Lyssa has a clever concept with a male dominant cast in romance that I don’t see from other authors. It makes it difficult to not keep picking them up even though some of the heroines have been highly unlikeable.
The narration is excellent. I like that a male narrator continues to perform this.
Thank you to PRHA for the alc. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Tropes: one night stand, family drama, matchmaking
Favorite quote: "He stopped and planted his hands on either side of the doorframe. Then he dragged his eyes down her body and back up again. 'If you dressed up for me, it worked. I'm yours.'" - pg 125
Review: There characters had a cute background. There were times when the plot definitely felt uneven. While this is a later book in the series, it is an interconnected standalone and I didn't feel like I was missing any information.
The part where Colton and Gretchen's uncle, Jack, were threatening Evan seemed convoluted and took more time than necessary.
While the Christmas elements were cute, it wasn't as much of a focal point as the back synopsis or front cover made it out to be.

Another fun bromance book club book, this one obviously set in a Christmas romance novel trope. Which I think Adams pulled off very well.
I felt like I wanted to see Gretchen pull the grand gesture, rather than Colton pulling it, to break away from the norm a bit in this series but otherwise it was very cute. Had the depth of character on both sides to make their lapses believable, had the chemistry that was necessary and of course it had a happy ending. So all in all a nice little Christmasy escape to finish off 2022 and start 2023.
It was especially fun to dive into Colton's backstory and headspace as he was such a fun side character in the other books. You got to fall in love with him along with Gretchen which was nice too.
Gretchen on the other hand, I found I was engaged with the story while we were in her headspace but slightly less engaged when it was her POV than from when it was Coltons. I suppose the grumpy one just isn't my fav person to read from. Hah.
But yes, give it a go if you're a fan of Christmas romance novels (this one has a little more spice than most Christmas novels though) and or if you're a fan of the series. It didn't disappoint.
