Highly recommend listening to the audiobook for this because Dan Stevens does such a good job of making Victor sound like the pathetic little bitch that he is. I could practically feel Mary Shelley being cosmically fed up of wilting violet aristocratic men needing to be bedridden for 2-3 months every time they encounter a fright.

absolutely excellent reflection on enlightened thinking and responsibility. Not just genre defining, but genre creating

both victor and the monster can go crawl in a hole and die
