What a fantastic read! I think kids of all ages will enjoy this book, but particularly boys.
Daniel has just moved to Noble's Green and very quickly he finds his new friends all have special super powers. But before he can get used to them having these powers, he discovers that his friends all lose their powers on their 13th birthdays. Why does this happen? They set up a plan to find the answer but then discover they are up against something that is so much powerful - The Shroud!
This is a great book for questions, as I read, I kept coming up with new ones that I was desperate to find the answers to! So glad to see there is a sequel to this great read!

This book started a bit slow, but once it picked up, it was awesome! Give it a chance if you like superheroes.

First upper el book club book. Laken loved it!

Great, easy read recommended to me by a student and I really enjoyed the time I spent reading it. Great book for young kids, especially boys.

I have to give this book 4 stars because my students have loved it. They can't stop talking about it And immediately made me by the sequel. I like how the real hero of the book has no super powers.

I think this might be an enjoyable book for kids. It isn't fantastic literature, but it is a decent story with lots of action and some good plot twists.

I listened to it as an audiobook. The narrator seemed a little too bland some of the times, but the questioning of self was good.

Finished this book for the second time and it’s just as good as I remembered it! My one qualm with this series is that the characters are so young- it hadn’t hit me when I was reading this as a 12/13 year old, but these characters seem very mature for that age and I almost wish that they were slightly older.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book.

Kids love superheroes, but they envy them and covet their powers. So what if an ordinary child met some child superheroes? That's the situation Matthew Cody puts his protagonist Daniel in Powerless, a fantastic book that I'm hoping he has a sequel for in the works. When Daniel's family moves to Noble's Green to came for his ill grandmother, all his new friends are slightly strange. He finds out the whole truth once they save his life, including that they lose their powers upon turning thirteen.
Daniel battles jealousy at being ordinary even as he attempts to help his extraordinary friends. He learns of a old town mystery complete with a mysterious old man, evil villain, and comic books. Cody's book will appeal to boys and girls who like superheroes, and ordinary heroes too. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel, Super.
