Such an amazing book! The way Lois Lowry created an entire world of sameness to show us everything we would be missing if we tried to be the same, the Individuality, the feelings, the humanity. A beautiful story. I read it in school and loved it then but it's so much better reading as an adult understanding the deep meaning behind it. It's very easy to read and comprehend as well!

3.5 stars. Gah! Talk about a cliff hanger. Also, I have so many questions about this world. I guess I'm supposed to read the next three books in order to get my answers which is a bit frustrating. Especially since this book is only 180 pages. Come on Lois. You could give me a little more. An epilogue? Something?
I don't know if I've read too many books where a supposed good guy turns out to be an asshole. I won't spoil anything but I was a little worried at one point that a certain character was going to turn out to be a lying jerk.
Overall it was pretty good. I'm hooked enough to want to read the next book in the series.
