Fisher’s passion and adoration for music is infectious. His genuine excitement and desire to examine the things he enjoys through theory is so readable and intelligent. The repeated references to The Shining, Ballard, Burroughs, and Tarkovsky make me feel all warm n fuzzy inside. Wasn’t able to put this down. RIP k-punkv

some very insightful sections in this but another chunk (bigger than you’d think) has reflections on music i don’t really agree with. interesting, nonetheless.

fisher's music taste/analysis is really not my thing; just wanted to read through the introduction to get a clearer idea of what exactly "hauntology" 🥺 in that regard: good! now i know, along with the rest of the academic world, that derrida is too convoluted for his own good.
