Danielle Valentine is a phenomenal writer and has created a compelling story. Her style of writing is very engaging and takes the reader on a journey of suspense and twists and turns. The plot of "How to Survive Your Murder" keeps you on the edge of your seat as you want to know what will happen next. The characters are fleshed out and well-developed, making you root for them as they face obstacles they never saw coming. The pacing is excellent and I would recommend this novel to anyone who likes a good mystery.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and did not expect the ending. I thought some of it was basic horror movie but that is the fun of it. The cliques helped make the book exciting and the main character lovable. Alice knew she was falling for every basic horror thing and she just kept on going.

I was so excited for this one as a slasher lover myself. When I saw it taglined as Scream meets Happy Death Day I was IN as those are 2 of my absolute all-time favorite movies. The sneak peek gave me a few mixed feelings as I felt a lot of the descriptive language in the opening was excessive and like the author was trying as an adult to relate with teen readers. HOWEVER PUSH THROUGH BECAUSE ONCE IT GETS GOOD IT GETS SO GOOD!!!!

As I said I am a true slasher lover and make a game out of guessing the killer with these kinds of stories and I am never wrong. But this had me guessing up until the very last page and managed to shock me at least 3 times. Such a good mix of standard horror/thriller tropes and self-awareness that keeps you on your toes right up until the end, and I mean the very end. I wish some of the side characters had been a little more likeable, and that the character introduction in the beginning didn't rely so heavily on trendy pop culture. Overall it gave more Its a Wonderful Life if the Christmas classic were a gory slasher rather than Happy Death Day vibes, but I definitely would recommend it to all slasher lovers out there, especially now that fall is on its way. I cannot imagine a better book to curl up by a spooky bonfire with.

It can be a little hard to follow but overall a good book.

I love this book so much! It kept me entertained and guessing until the very end. I was on the edge of my seat the whole ride, and what a wild ride it was!!

WELL, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ENDING

I was in like Flynn. I liked the Scream and Happy Death Day references. For a YA book it was the right level of horror IMO. However, the ending and with the explanation as to why the killings are taking place totally turned me off. It turned me from liking this book to REALLY not liking it. I won't spoil who the killer is for those that read reviews before reading a book, but just know you were warned.
