The beginning was hard to get into. It was a very slow start for me. The middle had an interesting concept, that I felt could have been better executed. And what was that ending....?! I don't want to give any spoilers, but I read all that, for that? No, thank you.

This was like… not BAD but I didn’t love it. I had no idea who the killer was until Allie found out yet I still was like wth? Why ? It didn’t make any sense to me. I also don’t think the ending was fair .. it was kinda fucked up
So weird – not what I was expecting at all – and the killer was such a shock.

I found most of the characters and dialogue pretty formulaic (and kind of annoying) right off, and the main character really seemed like a "not like the other girls" type. Maybe she improves, but I wasn't going to stick around long enough to find out.
I also wish the main character being true crime podcast obsessed wasn't such a common theme in mystery novels now -- I like mystery but hate true crime for how exploitative it is. That's a very personal nitpick, but it didn't make me want to read the book more, you know?
