I was looking for an enticing thriller and this didn’t disappoint. A girl murdered in a corn maze? It doesn’t get more Halloween than that, lol. I absolutely loved how Alice had so many horror movie references and in times of peril thought, ‘what would a Final Girl do?’ It was a great read overall. The ending shocked me, but didn’t quite make sense… I would recommend if you’re looking for a book about a horror movie obsessed girl trying to save her sister from getting murdered.

This one just didn't land for me. I read a decent amount of YA & don't think I'm too old for it ;) but this one may be the exception. Even though I grew up through the beginning of the Scream movie series, the references fell flat and I just didn't connect to the characters. I also didn't enjoy the narrator for the audiobook, which is a big part of the experience for me.

A delightful homage to 90’s cinema. Especially horror movies from Scream to Happy Death Day but with Easter Eggs from so many more. Some more obvious than others.
Like watching a weird mic of your favourite (or not) slashers, with nostalgia hits of other cult movies.
