We’re starting off this review STRONG! I found this book upon the piles at B&N the other week. The cover caught my eye instantly and they did a fantastic job with the synopsis. I’m a sucker for an aesthetically pleasing book and tantalizing grab line. Without giving away spoilers, this book kept me on the edge of my seat until THE VERY END. I was baffled by how Danielle Valentine was able to keep the truth vague and everchanging up until the very last page!

This book was a rollercoaster, I did consider DNFing it early on because I felt the pop culture references were a bit too heavy handed, but as Alice was dragged back in time to the night of her sister's death to find out the truth of really happened, there was a tonal shift and I really got into the story.
I liked that the majority of this story is a faced paced run through Alice's town as she tries to escape the killer with her sister and friends, work out who they are by the midnight deadline, and find the killers potential next victims.
Unfortunately, the end left me with a bit of a mess of a story that I had trouble really trying to believe, while I did work out the killer and their intentions after the half way mark, the reasoning sounded completely unbelievable. The ending was not remotely satisfying either, leaving me wishing for a better outcome for these characters.
