Predicted the killer in the end. A bit repetitive and boring in parts, slow at times. Overall great concept and good book.

I gave this book 4/5 stars. I did enjoy it and I found it quite entertaining but it wasn't the best thriller book I've ever read. While the premise of it was different from other thriller books I've read, it didn't particularly stand out to me like I thought it would. Alice the MC was pretty average, she was very "I'm so different to everyone else, I read and I watch horror movies so that means I'm different and weird" which I found to be a bit of an unlikeable quality in my opinion.
I liked the movie references, I'm a huge movie buff so seeing that was cool, but I feel like all the references were a little bit over the top (as there were just so many of them) and it definitely got old after a while. The constant "this isn't a horror movie I watch, it's real life" got a bit annoying. Also while I know it's a mystery/thriller when Alice was trying to guess who the killer was, it kind of felt like she was grasping at straws.
SPOILER WARNING:
And I don't know if it was just me, but I was so confused with the ending. I get that everything Alice did when she relived the day her sister was murdered, ended up changing the entire future and the course of that day, but I'm so confused as to why Claire was still there; did she frame Owen? If so why Owen? Did she actually get away with it? Did Alice end up covering for her? What happened with Alice stabbing herself? What happened to Wes and why wasn't he mentioned again? What was up with Final Girl being the 'Angel of Death'? What was with a girl that looked like Final Girl being in the courtroom? I still have so many unanswered questions that never got addressed and if that was how the author intended it to be I don't like that as I'm not a fan of books that make you figure out the ending yourself.
All in all, I did like the book but it wasn't my absolute favourite.
