Arc review:
This book hit everything that is needed in a zombie filled world book. A badass MFC and three very hot MMC also. Very good story line along with very good sexy scenes that were in there. There was a lot of growing in this book with all the characters.

cute story
Cute story. Weird right? But it was, and it was a quick read too. I normally don’t like fast burns, but this one had enough story to go with it, that it was enjoyable. I am a sucker for apocalyptic books, so I snatch them up, and I am glad this one caught my eye.

When I think why choose romance I dont think post apocalyptic zombie universe but I am totally here for this. When Lyra first mentioned it in her reader group I was intrigued and the execution of this was just brilliant. I loved all of the characters, minus one, because I am not meant to like them.. I loved the world she created and even how germaphobic Calix was. I thought the growth that she showed was great. I am sad that this is a stand alone. But I feel like I will reread this again as I feel that I will want to revisit the world again!

3.5 Stars rounded to four. Not a bad book, it just felt like there was something lacking. There was a deus ex machina in the story which I HATED, and that really took away from me. I also didn't like the epilogue was so short and vague. Honestly if the author had gotten rid of the "main conflict" earlier the book probably would've been better and more flushed out, and the epilogue could've been included in the book. Or I dunno Tori's sister could've gotten her own book instead of a thrown in sentence.
Spoiler
Honestly the deaths of Jay and Daisy should've happened when the death of Tori's horse happenedmichcamcam's review

Another apocalyptic whychoose! The drama did a great job in frustrating the hell out of me. I fucking hate cheaters, and Tori is a better human being than me. If I were her I’d leave the traitors to be buffet for the zombies.
Anyway, I appreciate the author having a heroine with somewhat similar position as I do. It felt personal—and fucking sucks—but it helped me feel great about myself. Our worth as women are not measured by our ability to bear children. I wish every women out there lots and lots of love in your lives.
On the other hand, I would love to explore the heroes—Micah, Nathan and Calix—more. But, since this is only a short story, they’re alright. I guess. It did its job. It’s quick and easy, somewhat forgettable but there’s nothing wrong with that.
This book has a different premise which stood out from other standalone Apocalyptic RH I encountered. And I enjoyed it. Nothing too complicated, just a feel-good type of read.

It’s a good light read. Kind of an insta love—like they meet and move in together within days but ya know, post-apocalypse who can judge?
Very sweet love interests, and enough conflict and mystery to keep you reading. Some of the mysteries could’ve come back up in more ways (like the other people who still exist)
Overall a cute short romance!

Lyra is one of my instant buy authors and I just love everything she writes. This was no exception! I loved watching the relationship grow between the main characters. I particularly like Calix because he was just a sweetheart. Great job lyra!
