I might come back to it. Just can't really stand one of the MMC. I usually enjoy this author and especially books from the Unexpected series.

Cora Rose is a one-click author for me, but this was my least favorite book of the “Unexpected” series. It’s just not in the same league as the others.

Coming off of a more serious and emotional series, I needed something a little more lighthearted and fun as a little break. So of course I turned to Cora Rose. Diablo is the latest release in her Unexpected series. It's fun, a little silly, and a good time all around.
Diablo's family is part of the mafia/mob in his city. He does something (vague details given - it involves computers and pictures?) to get back at someone who hurt/blackmailed his twin brother. Because of this he has become a target, and has to go into hiding and have a 24/7 bodyguard.
Diablo is a slightly insane, needy little computer hacker who is not happy about having big sexy ex-Marine Skylar as his bodyguard. Skylar would rather be doing anything else, but is intrigued/exasperated by Diablo's antics - it's complicated. The more Skylar figures Diablo's crazy tendencies out, the more Diablo opens up to him and stops fighting. While a little crazy, they definitely are an evenly matched couple. Diablo is always going to be a little off the walls, but Skylar understands him and knows how to deal with all Diablo throws at him.
Though a simple plot and not a lot of drama, it's an entertaining read. Diablo's inner monologue is amusing, and he and Skylar get up to all sorts of steamy fun times. I would recommend for a short, spicy, relaxing read!

I think brat dynamic can be fun if done well, but Diablo felt like a literal child and that made having a 30 year old love interest feel off-putting. I didn't understand why they were attracted to each other and it felt like no growth until the very end. I love this series and I've been eagerly waiting for Diablo and so excited about body guard romance but this wasn't it.
3 stars. I love Cora Rose’s books. Truly. But this one felt rushed and underdeveloped. Yes, it had it’s moments. And parts were good. But… it wasn’t enough. At least for me.

Ahhh! Okay so I have loved every single Cora Rose book so far and this is absolutely no exception.
Diablo is a little bit different from her other books but I think it might be my favourite! Maybe?!
