I wasn't at all sure how someone could write a love story for Diablo, and, well, this is how. Is it my favorite? Nope. Is it pretty remarkable in its own right? Yup.
The rating is a me thing more than a book thing. I wanted to read this before reading the spin off. It's just not my favourite type of dynamic. (Also...not as much romance as I was expecting?)

Honestly it was good.
I was not really interested in the characters in the previous books but damn I was so wrong !
Loved it from start to the end.
If you love crazy, brat, spanking, possessive MC with a loooot of tension and spice, this book is for you.
I would have liked to have after care tbh.

From the first page, you’re thrown into the chaos that is Diablo's life – when we begin reading, he is being threatened by an ex-boyfriend of his twin brother’s who he has ‘hacked’ and needs to be put somewhere safe.
Skylar is his bodyguard, a man pushed beyond his patience by the chaos that is Diablo and how he goes through life. The difference is that Skylar sees Diablo, as well as the needs he is hiding behind his chaotic, obnoxious exterior.
This would normally push so many of my buttons: size-difference, bodyguard, psycho falling in love, mafia – so much to choose from and devour. Unfortunately, this book simply did not work for me. I disliked Diablo intensely and thought he was immature and annoying. The refusing to admit he liked something was amusing to begin with – when it kept happening in situations where his denial was completely absurd, I began to get annoyed.
The feelings of annoyance got worse the more that I read and I finished the book because I felt obligated rather than because I wanted to know what happened in the end.
The physical relationship/sex scenes were intense and fun but I didn’t feel that there was enough between our two leads for there to be a HEA – Diablo felt too young and immature, and I didn’t know enough about Skylar to feel like I knew who he was and what he wanted. Some of their interactions were funny, but overall this book just didn’t work for me because I didn’t like the main protagonist. I admit I have been enjoying Cora Rose less and less with each book but that may well be my issue – YMMV. If you enjoyed Lex, then you will probably enjoy Diablo but this book wasn’t for me.

Unfortunately this one was a miss for me. I love a good bodyguard trope but these two bored me.
"Junk food is my weakness. It’s better than sex…well, the sex I’ve had. Give me Gobstoppers any day."
I mean gobstoppers are good ;)
Oh Diablo..this sweet psychotic baby.
I absolutely loved Skylar for Diablo, just what and who he needs.
These two kept me from start to finish from putting this book down.
Situations put these two together, not realizing in the end that that is what will keep them together.
Diablo messed up, trying to defend his brother but only caused someone to want to hurt him instead. Enter Skylar who is tasked with taking care of Diablo and keeping him from harm.
The back & forth between these two throughout is hilarious and keeps you going. You get Diablos responses to Skylar then you get Diablos inside thought as well.
Two completely different people yet they make it work.
Skylar holds his own until he can't anymore and then things get interesting between him and Diablo.
I won't say too much on the spice because it is intense at times or I thought so anyways but it was soo good. I will say if you have anything against rope or saws I would skip those parts because phew!
Definitely worth the wait from Luke & Lex's book to find out who Diablo is.
