This was comical, Olive is an adorable FMC and I loved this type of fake dating trope where the MMC is head over heels and the FMC is the one catching up. It was fantastically played out and I can see why this is being turned into a movie for sure. The spice was limited to one event - over the course of 2 chapters and honestly fit into the story naturally. The tension though was great.

This is the second Ali Hazelwood book I have read and I partly read it because the movie adaptation is coming out. But it’s been on the list for a while! And it’s such a cute story! I liked the characters and thought the main characters were cute and good together. As someone not into STEM I was confused at points with all the science details but I can overlook that. It’s a good romance book!

Possibly spoilers:
Tiny, quirky, brilliant heroine? Check. Very large, very well-endowed, brooding, mysterious, brilliant love interest? Check. Fantastic best friends with witty repartee and story lines? Satisfying ending involving basically a knight in shining armor that tickled my princess heart? Check. Four stars because it's just a bit too formulaic and similar to later other Ali Hazelwood books (yes, I know it's the first one but still. I respect a well-endowed love interest as much as the next person but it gets to be a little much - pun intended).
But would I read it again? Hell yes. Did I leave a copy of the book on my husband's nightstand in the hopes that he would learn how to be a better piner? No, that plan probably wouldn't work very well for several reasons including that I doubt he would read it as well as the fact that his love for me is not such a big secret given our marriage. But a girl can hope.
