Criado para el Amor

The whole "everyone in town treats Maddie like scum due to a high school rumor of promiscuity" feels very 90's. And everyone forgiving Mac's mom because she apologizes once the rumors are proven false is just gross. She purposely assigned the most terrible jobs to an employee because she didn't approve of said employee's sex life (which has not impact on job performance). She's a terrible human being, and not a good business owner.

I feel bad writing this review because after all the book was free. But it got on my last nerve.

This book was completely unrealistic. The couple meets because Mac ran into Maddy with his bike, injuring her. A few hours later, he's moved into her apartment, taking care of her son, taking over her job etc. Within 2 days they're discussing marriage.

Maddy's a complete doormat who does nothing to actually improve her life. I don't mind a Cinderella story, but if it's placed in the present day, some initiative on the part of the "heroine" would be nice. Maddy was labeled a slut in high school. 10 years later, she's living in the same town, hearing the same insults, and just accepts being treated terribly.
Spoilershe has a son with a rich man, but won't tell the father. Instead she lives hand to mouth and works 2 jobs, one of which is as a maid. And in the maid job, she gets all the bad rooms to clean. Because of her reputation in high school. No thought of leaving town, seeking child support, anything to improve her existence. Then she meets Mac, and he plans out her whole life, without any consultation with her, and she's just thrilled. Have some self respect.
Between the slut shaming and the "heroine" who takes zero initiative to improve her own life, this was a really angering read.

Mac and Maddie

Mac and Maddie run into each other, literally, when Mac hits Maddie on her bike. He moves in with her to help nurse her back to health and to help her with whatever she needs. Mac is a notorious playboy and Maddie wants nothing to do with that but neither one can help the attraction that is growing between them. Such a sweet story. Love the growth of both the characters and how much love Mac has for Maddie and her/their son.

I really enjoyed Mac and Maddie's story. I especially loved the interactions between Mac and baby Thomas. Cute.

It was cute

The first Marie Force book that didn’t bore me to death. It had my absolute favorite trope, the only drawback was it was so darn cheesy. However, definitely kept me entertained.

Ich liebe dieses Buch. Ich kann gar nicht aufhören. Vielleicht kaufe ich mir alle anderen teile direkt hinterher.

This is a delightful read on a lazy day with a glass of iced tea and no pressure to do anything but get lost in the magic that is The McCarthys. I am adding the next book in the series to my To Be Read list.
