Thoroughly enjoyed despite being a product of its time , if one is able to look past it , twain gives huckleberry some beautiful moments and philosophical insights . I want to know huckleberry!!! I don't think that just BC a book discusses things we now deem abhorrent that it becomes a bad piece of art . Just representing a part of history, and those wrong times should not be forgotten just BC they make us uncomfortable now. i enjoyed the escapades , I like to imagine myself out on the road or river

Well, I sure did hear Elijah Wood drop the n-bomb a lot of times. He seemed to do a good job with the accents, though I’m no expert on southern US accents. It was an adventure, I guess, and it got pretty tense at times. I did not particularly warm to Huck and boy was Tom Sawyer an awful character! It probably goes without saying, but this is a classic that does not hold up to scrutiny in our modern world and I didn’t particularly care for it. I can now read James by Percival Everett and get the references though!

errr took me a good one month to finish. not very used to the writing style i suppose. often lost in the story. very opinionated rating.

I tried really, really hard to finish this but it was impossible. I tried both reading and listening. It is described as a picaresque novel and I have never found one of those I could stand.
