I could have read this forever.

The world building, each character and their motivations, the big questions behind it all… So fucking good.

After reading a few reviews I was prepared to be baffled by the story, but I just let my questions sit and they were (almost!) all answered!

So so curious how the next books will go - Can’t wait to get my hands on them!

Incredible descriptive imagery! Gideon is an extraordinarily fun character. The world can feel overwhelming and disorienting at times. There are so many characters it can be hard to keep things straight. I listened on audiobook and the narrator did an astounding job! I feel like I gotta give this author props for making this such an enjoyable ride even if I did get lost along the way. Diving right into the second book!

Really fun. Love the necromancy theme, love the POV character's casual attitude and anachronistic speech, the Gothic Space Castle mystery setting is a lot of fun, and the whole cast of characters and mounting series of mysteries and political messes and relationships build up really nicely.

For a book about necromancers and

featuring several murders

it's not really particularly dark or horrifying, I didn't think. Fine by me.
