Another fun cozy mystery by Sheila Connolly. I’m adoring the characters and the scenery and the culture differences. The mysteries are fun and the stories are intriguing.

Surprise reunions, good or bad?
Many A Twist by Sheila Connolly is delightful. There were many surprises and changes for the crew at Sullivan’s Pub.
Since Many A Twist is the sixth book in the series I won’t go into any background. However, I will say these are stand-alone books, but if you read them in order it makes the back story flow better.

I truly like this series, Maura, Billy, Bridget, Mick, Inspector Detective Hurly, Sean, Rose and Seamus all feel like friends when I am reading one of the County Cork books. It isn’t all about murder and that is what makes it so great. You get to know the characters and the many connections of their families past and present.

In this installment we get to meet Maura’s long lost mother. Helen hasn’t had anything to do with Maura for years. However, with a little nudging, Maura seems to be willing to give her mom a chance. But before she can truly do that she has a list of items that need to be taken care of, such as:
• Figure out if the murder was a murder or an accident
• Help Gillian and Harry get their new house together
• Figure out Mick
• Avoid the new Sergeant in the county
• Figure out how to advertise the pub’s music online
• Find summer help
• Get to know her mother (last but only for now)

One of my all-time favorite characters
Maura has always been one of my favorite characters. She always has so much to do and yet she figures it out what is happening by asking questions and being courteous. Maura has stamina, spunk and integrity. But she is also extremely likable and most people feel at ease around her.

Community
I think what I love the most about this series is the community. The way they all pull together. Yes, it centers on the pub, its employees and the patrons but it is so believable and something lacking in our current time here in America. Oh and the mystery was a good, the clues all flowed. Ms. Connolly can really spin a tale.

My rating for Many A Twist by Sheila Connolly is 5 stars. I enjoy returning to County Cork to see what everyone is up to. If you haven’t read this series I highly recommend it.

So I'm six books into this series, and I seriously almost left Ireland with the last one. But I went back for more, because I am a glutton for punishment, and it fits my current challenge. Maura is still ridiculous. She wasn't as ridiculous as book 5, but she still bugs me. We had a big plot surprise that I won't spoil here, and I'm curious where we go with these new developments. I hate myself, so I'm sure I will read book 7 and complain the whole way. Maura, you are dumb. Barely 3 stars, but only because I like Mick and Rose.

I’m not sure why I keep reading these books. I think it’s because they are actually well written even though they barely have a plot. I wouldn’t exactly call them mysteries either. More like “confusings.”Something a little out of the ordinary happens and suddenly it’s a huge plot point. And then it turns out to be nothing. I certainly dont read it for the cranky and unlikable Maura. Someone hands her a house and a pub and she can’t figure out how to run or fix up any of it. She’s so judgmental, clueless, and lazy. When does she start growing as a person?

Another amazing installment in an excellent series by Sheila Connolly! I couldn't put it down and the twists and turns throughout the book left me wanting more. I was almost at the end before I figured out who done it but not the reasoning behind it. Can't wait for the next book and seeing what happens next.

I received a free copy of the book for my honest opinion. All opinions are of my own.

This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series. A, because I love Ireland and B, because the characters are just so darn likable! This entry into the series is delightful and makes me want to pack my bags and go work at a pub in Ireland.

By far the best book in this series thus far. There are a few “big” reveals and major developments in the characters’ lives, but the mystery is also pretty interesting and moves along at a good pace. The story is somewhat unbalanced in the sense that the mystery at times gets a bit lost behind all the other plots; there’s also just an absolute ton of relationships and names to remember and keep straight in this one. Maura might also be up to her old nonsense again with the attitude, but I’m hoping that’s just a temporary thing. Overall, this one is really worth the time.

Book 6 in the series.

This is fast becoming my favorite series from Sheila Connolly. I love Maura and (most of) the pub crew. This book gets in to Maura's personal life pretty heavily, from introducing her long lost mother to her relationship with Mick. Maura and Mick both open up in this book, and as a result, see some pretty significant and well-deserved character growth. The mystery is interesting, but personal relationships really take center stage in this book. Maura also finally seems to make up her mind once and for all that she's staying in Ireland.

The other characters in this series really help make it the fun series it is. I love Billy, with all his knowledge of the area and the people in it. I am still waiting for Rose to get more time. I was kind of disappointed that Maura never followed through on an idea from the previous book concerning Rose.

All in all, this was a great step forward in the series, with an interesting mystery and a nice fast, read.

I really enjoy this unique cozy series set I Ireland. The characters seem authentic and well developed and with each book I look forward to seeing the progression of relationships between the characters. This book had a major twist in the beginning as well as the end which kept me guessing. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
