Ugh.
Once again only 2 pov were interesting (sorasa and erida) everything else was just so boring. I am beyond disappointed.

3.5 stars // Aveyard’s second installment in this saga was an incredible follow up for a story i am truly beginning to love. it is following a classic LOTR fantasy structure here, with our fellowship growing together in this second installment before inevitable failing on this leg of their journey and fracturing into separate groups and inevitably working towards different goals. i loved seeing the character and plot development all around, and seeing erida’s POV really gave her and taristan some much needed depth in motivation. corayne remains my favorite character in this series, and i cannot wait to see how she and the rest of the group develop further in the next story.

I fear I don't remember much of this book other than thinking that there were entirely too many Erida perspectives. The thing about these books that I really liked was the Companions and there interactions and we spent so much of the book away from them that it really turned me off. Other than that I enjoy the gathering of the armies and how they managed to convince everyone to fight with them when the savior of the world is a seventeen year old who can't hold her sword.

This is a good series. I love the characters alot and their dynamics, but I find myself not really caring about the plot itself. As with alot of fantasy series, I feel like a good 1/3 could be cut out and it'd be better as it wouldn't be so long winded. But still, it's really enjoyable and I'm excited to read the final one.
