reread, 4-25-23: at the very least, given the amount of sniffly crying this book makes me do, this is a 4.75, which rounds up to 5. It also might just be a 5/5 anyway, idk.

12-18-22: I think my final rating on this is 4.5

truly don't know what to do with this.
did i find myself doing that over-stimulated squeal of excitement far too many times in this book? absolutely.
My gut is gravitating toward 5 stars, but I'm not sure that's correct. very high, regardless.
I've never been the biggest fan of strictly "romance" fiction, but tbh the more I read, the more I question the validity of that assessment.

Dnf due to everyone’s disregard of one Charlie’s aversion to touch. They touch him an uneven dart amount. They were also incredibly rude to Charlie.
See:
“Sorry.” He stared at her hand but doesn’t take it. “Uh, you… also meet.”

“Does he think that was a sentence?” Jules asks Dev. “God, we’re screwed.”

Also this exchange was wildly uncomfortable:

“What’s wrong Charlie?”

“I… I can’t kiss Angie. I don’t even know her.”

Dev nods in slow understanding. “Right, but you’re getting to know her, and kidding is a part of this whole process. You know kissing was going to be required when you came on this show, right?”
He did know. Abstractly.

That was awful!
