While I loved MILA 2.0 I never had a chance to properly review it as I was finishing up grad school and to busy trying to worry about sleep. I am however thrilled I’ve had proper time to review Renegade. I was lucky enough to meet Katherine Tegen at ALAMW2014 and her love of books makes me love these books (or want to love the books). This helped rekindle my love of Driza and Mila.

Renegade picks up right where MILA 2.0 left off. She is on the run with Hunter, the boy she knows little to nothing about and quickly he is calling her his girlfriend. The romance throughout the novel was a tad weak for me. It was fairly instalove in the sense that I just didn’t get it. I didn’t see how they fell in love with each other so quickly. Do not get me wrong, I enjoy Hunter and what he brings to the story but he knows nothing about Mila and she knows nothing about her besides the fact she asked him to go on the run and he said yes.

Mila, and Hunter, are on the search for clues that Mila’s mom (keeper?!) left before she met her untimely death. Of course obstacles occur and nothing is easy for Mila (or Hunter) who begin to fight for their lives through Renegade. Including Hunter finding more out about Mila. Where he is kind of freaked out by the secrets she has been keeping! (SHOCKED! I KNOW!) Between people chasing them and a lack of communication from Mila, Renegade is a quick paced novel that I could not put down. Between finding more out about Mila’s backstory and seeing her “droid” side breakdown and how when she lets her guard down people get in and is that a good thing?

Never once while reading this did I feel that Renegade suffered from the dreaded middle book syndrome and as soon as I finished I became quite excited to see where the trilogy will end.

So I had been waiting forever to read this book. I LOVED Mila 2.0 and when I saw that they had it at my grandma's library over Christmas Break I snatched it off the shelf. You could say I power read this book to get it done before I had to go home. Once again this book made me jittery and man did the feels come out a few times. I loved the fast pace of the novel and the action that it had as well. Debra Driza develops her characters amazingly and makes sure the plot is interesting throughout the whole book. I totally recommend reading both of the books and I can't wait for the next one!

I happened to find the sequel on the library shelf. I was again disappointed by Mila and Hunter as well. I understand that Mila was helpless and needed someone to help find Richard Grady. But, she didn't even tell Hunter what her mission was and who (or what I should say) she was. After Hunter found out, he really did how expected him to react but he did act like a jerk as well to her. Either way, the plot was pretty interesting. :)

Mila is on the run. Alongside the charming Hunter she runs from those that want to lock her up. She's on a quest to find out who she really is. What makes her human. As human as she can be considering she's an adroid. While on the run and fulfilling her quest things start to catch up to her. Things she's lied about and kept in the past.

I honestly could've lived my whole life without reading this book. I can say that I've read worst. I didn't hate it but I'm not gonna sit there waiting for the next book. The original concept was really interesting but I feel like things are just getting muddled. I had absolutely no interest to pick this book up again when I set it down. It took a lot of self-motivation.

But the author did do a good job of keeping you guessing. You question everyone and their motives. The uneasiness of wanting to know who are the good guys and who are the bad guys is really what kept me going in the middle. Towards the end things did start to pick up. I really wish the rest of the book had this tempo. Finally we get to see some interesting conflict.

Like I said I'm not too fond with the concept of a sequel. The way things left off was meant to have people saying 'omg I sooo need the next book. Did you see that cliffhanger?'. It could just be cause I'm impatient but I feel like we should've just resolved things in this book instead of going on a wild goose chase. But for everything a reason.

I actually thought this sequel had a better plot. Book 1 felt like a prologue and book 2 confirmed that feeling. There was the backstory to move the plot along, but the actual storyline flowed better rather than the feel of action reaction like in book 1.

This book was a bit silly but so fun to read. It's about an android hormonal teenage girl. She's in love with a real live uber sexy human boy - swoon, swoon. She's got the military and a mysterious underground organization after her. But since Mila (our heroine) is a machine with ports and a built in chemical lab, not to mention unbelievable strength, she's well equipped to be an action hero.

Five for ridiculous, page turning fun - One for plausibility = 3.5 stars from me.

A lot of running around for nothing. Wild goose chase with nothing actually happening. This could have been narrowed down to a novella or combined with the 3rd book.
