Une héroïne espionne, une histoire qui se déroule sur plusieurs générations et qui nous fait voyager entre l'Europe et l'Amérique, le tout sur un fond historique méconnu et stupéfiant... un roman captivant !

A fine thriller, but the author describes women as only out of touch men can!

I listened to this book and was confused through most of it. From what I got, it was good, but in the audio form, half the time it didn't even tell me when the POV changed. I also think i'm just not used to the genre and the more I read it, the more I'll get it and understand it.

Lovely and fluent spy thriller. A bit underwhelmed by the ending.

Book Club pick for March.

Honestly meh. Writing wasn’t my fave, and had many jarring moments that stood out as not being in the same tone. I loved the spy aspect including the training and think I need more spy fiction now.
medium-paced

William Boyd does a masterful job of reimagining the classic espionage thriller in Restless. He cleverly weaves together the World War II-based story of Eva Delectorskaya (a Russian emigree turned British spy) with the post-war (circa 1976) world of Eva's daughter, Ruth, who is just learning the truth about her mom. I found myself equally compelled by the two narratives - I loved reading about Eva's globetrotting exploits but felt myself just as drawn into Ruth's story as a single mom trying to balance life, work, and her mother's breathtaking revelation. It's not often you get to read a spy thriller with two resourceful, brilliant, and daring heroines. My only complaint - I could have used another 100 pages to flesh out the closing act of Ruth and Eva/Sally's confrontation with her past.

WWII spy thriller. It was better than ok, and good enough that I'll be reading more of his titles.
