I was prompted to read this because a friend of mine got around to reading it and reminded me that I wanted to read it, too. I am so, so glad that I finally picked this up.
This is How You Lose the Time War is devastating and desperate. Absolutely perfect. Enemies to lovers done in just the way that I love, slow and yearning as Red and Blue recognize pieces of themselves within each other, and I am left feeling absolutely shattered in the very best way. I love these characters; their nuance and complexity. The narration can be complex at times but in a way that adds to and enhances the tone of the story.I love the ending. I can’t rate this book any higher.
This is a must-buy because I could read it again and again.

It might just be that I’m not in the mood for this book’s vibe, but I just couldn’t suspend enough disbelief to follow what was going on and didn’t know who the characters were enough to try.
I have not yet acquired a taste for poetry, and I take my sci fi medium well to well done so this meal wasn't looking too great for me from the get go.
Flowery words, flowery imagery and not a whole lot else happening? Honestly at the end it had me thinking that this book could have just been letters and I would have understood the same.
It almost felt backwards (maybe intentionally) that the letters were written more casually and the story? was written so bloated with metaphors but perhaps that was to distract from the faintest whisper of a plot.
It just felt a bit pretentious for me but i usually feel that way about most poetry or poetic prose. I did like the seeker reveal at the end but overall this one just was not for me (and I LOVED Don Quixote
