see, i'm a simple girl!! i fucking love me some lesbian rom-com!!!

i spoiled myself the end by reading the reviews and thought of giving this 4 stars, since i like ruby and saoirse together so much :_( and also, i thought their break up would be bittersweet or something.

even though i didn't like saoirse's voice at times, even when her character development was clear, i still wanted to give this more than 4 stars. there's no reasoning behind this if you ask me lol.

i completely enjoyed this <3 there was no chapter where i had been bored out or dragging myself to get to the end — all thanks to the amazing characters and their respective developments, especially saoirse's! i loved seeing her improvement even as a friend with oliver. i think the only thing that throws me off a little it's the last conversation she has with her dad and how she admits she dislikes the fact her dad doesn't act the way SHE wants...

anyway, this was overall so refreshing and fun and light! i love funny characters <3 this is like a dream come true for rom-com lovers without being cringe or "too much"

i really wanted ruby and saoirse to stay together even when that was like the whole deal with them T__T i love them so much ughhh LESBIANS!!!! ( ;´ - `;) they're my sweet daughters now!!

I only finished it because I wanted it to count toward my 2023 reading challenge. I thought the main character was really immature and unlikeable. She did get a little better towards the end though.

okay i LOVED this book. being a sucker for rom-com’s and romance in general, i ate this up. i love love love their take on a lesbian rom-com. saoirse was so funny and relatable. her story was emotional but fulfilling. and then we have miss ruby who is the sweetest thing ever. they balanced each other so well. while saoirse doesn’t believe in love and would rather watch horror movies than anything even remotely romantic, ruby is the exact opposite, loving every known rom-com and the idea of love in general. together they made me feel so many emotions and i loved every second of it.

This book is really really good and impactful but I just had such different expectations based on the synopsis that I can't help but feel a little disappointed.
