It was fine. It’s a trilogy but I’m pausing after this book. I wish it had a bit more plot than it did. Plus I didn’t feel all that passionately about the almost epilogue chapter cliffhanger.

This book has triggers (like, a lot) but it also has a fantastic storyline that intrigued me from the beginning. Nic is a character that I absolutely adore. She shows how a woman can be strong for herself despite her circumstances and experiences. The story touches on many topics such as setting boundaries and consent that tested my own limits of what I was comfortable reading. The relationships between Nic and the guys are vastly different which only made reading this more enjoyable. I'd want to punch one of the guys and then proceed to rub all over him after. This book is dark, violent, and different to most things you may find yourself reading. It's so worth it though! I can't wait to see how things progress through the rest of the series!

One of the darkest books I have read if only based on the sexual situations in this.

Things to be aware of: rape, rapeplay/primalplay, BDSM

This book was rough to read.
TW are like…so many and so vast but the big ones are:
Blood play
Knife play
R*pe/non-con
Dubcon

The smut was good but some of the darker scenes had me cringing and trying to get through them as quickly as possible.

ok so this was basically just 5 people murdering (others) and having sex (with each other). I liked how everybody was so open and considerate of each other's needs and wants (for the most part), although there were a few dubious consent scenes at the beginning that I think could be handled better.
I really like to see people switch (dom/sub) and polyamorous relationships is always awesome to see 🥰
I enjoyed character dynamics way more than I should've 🙈 and it was just sexy and fun
the plot was there but some parts seemed a bit disjointed, rushed or just too vague. We did get a little teaser as a cliff hanger at the end so I'm excited to continue the series

Very dark: definitely read, and heed, the TWs.

This was an enjoyable and fast-paced read. For the RH lovers: there are some crossed swords, and a few light/brief m/m scenes...the last one is sweet, and I cannot wait to explore that dynamic further in the second book. The spice is spicy, maybe a 4/5? There are a few scenes where it intermingles with graphic violence (think the horsemen series), and that's really not my thing so I just skipped over those paragraphs and was none the worse for wear.

The two Russian brothers kinda blend together for me but I'm not offended by it, and the Oli/Bodhi relationship is sweet. In general I just have a huge soft spot for Bodhi, poor babe. The FMC is a little one dimensional here and there, but otherwise I'm a fan.

Bonus points to the author who introduced a secondary character who uses they/them pronouns. I'm a little confused about the introduction of a few of the secondary characters and the fact that they already have close relationships with many of the characters from this book: it almost feels like I missed a set of books prior to this trilogy, and maybe I did! Hoping it all becomes a little clearer in the second book.

Dark

Dark just doesn't sum up this book correctly. If you have any kind of triggers this one is probably not for you. Peeps with no triggers will probably enjoy this book. Theres soooo much naughtiness..exactly what readers want.

I'm so glad I came back to this book

When I first got this book the opening chapter was CNC or primal play which I really don't like. But I decided to come back to it because I've heard so many good things about this book. I am so glad I did it was so good! I really liked Nic and her men especially Bodhi there is just something so sweet about him that I just love him. I really hope in the next book we get to really see the submissive side of Sacha

Hard Limits is an exciting and steamy read by Suki Williams. It begins with Nic, a call girl specializing in difficult men who like rough and dark sex.  There is more to Nic than just being a call girl; she's good at keeping secrets.  So when she's called in to help finish a job for her boss, which includes her boss' husband's eventual Murder, she's shocked to find her roommate and favorite client are part of her new team.  As she works with the new men, an old stalker shows up. She ends up temporarily moving in with the team, and as she gets to know them, she finds herself attracted to them all. They make her feel things long forgotten. She discovers that after the job, she doesn't want things to end.   When they admit they feel the same as her, she wonders, can they make it work, or will her job as a call girl get in the way?
This book was so much more than I expected. With the title, I expected it to be spicy with some kinks. I was blown away by the characters and how deeply attached I became. Williams created deep, multi-layered characters and then slowly peeled away the layers.  What initially appeared to be uncaring hardened assholes turned out to be so much more. As Nic develops relationships with the guys, we see their different sides.  Sides that are soft and caring but hidden by rough lives and trauma.  The story contains twists and surprises with an ending that leaves readers desperate for her next book.
I give Hard Limits 5 out of 5 stars.  Williams crafted a story where darkness reigns, yet hope tugs at the heart.  Hard Limits progresses at an unhurried and deliberate pace that draws readers into the dangerous world of high-priced call girls and mercenaries.  A perfect balance of friendship, bickering, trust, and lust weaves the characters and story together. Despite the past traumas Nic and her men have experienced, there is something beautiful in how they wrest control of the darkness within.  If you have triggers, I suggest reading the CW. There are quite a few; otherwise, this one is best to go into blind. This book is for adults only due to the graphic sex, violence, and situations.  If you love it dark and dirty, with morally gray characters and independent sexy women that refuse to choose one love interest with lots of twists and surprises, Hard Limits is a must-read. I cannot wait to bury myself in Nic's world again with Book 2, Safe Word.

This book is just amazing!
The way nicollette owns her sexuality and her past and trauma! She is the ideal woman in her situation owning her life. I love how the book begins and how we meet the men before we realized we meet the men. I enjoy that nic wont give up her job and that we still get those details as well. I love bodhi and oliver and their relationship as well i want to see what happens with sasha and bodhi!! Vas is one of my favorites.. i also wish em and blake were part of her group!
