Hard Limits by Suki Williams is a dark why choose romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lacy Laurel and Lance Greenfield. This is the first book of the Queen of Hearts Trilogy.

I originally read the book when it was first released. I was so excited when it was announced that Suki was making it into an audiobook.

I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The book is dark and I loved every second of it. I am loving the relationship between Nicholette, Vas, Sacha, Oliver, and Bodhi. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Lacy and Lance did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances, reverse harem romances, or romantic suspense.

Hard Limits by Suki Williams is a Dark Why Choose Romance. This is the first book of the Queen of Hearts Trilogy.

The book does come with a trigger warning: "non con, dub con, BDSM scenes, a torture scene, and other adult material that people could find triggering."

This is the first book of Suki's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last.

The book ends on an amazing cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book in the series Safe Word to be released on October 22, 2021 so I can get more of their story.

I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances, reverse harem romances, or romantic suspense.
dark sad tense

This book was twisted darkness that was a wild ride. There was always something going on in the background that was just waiting to jump.

Nic just a baddie that has taken control of what was taken from her before. She is dark and twisty and most definitely deadly. The men are a whole other combination of darkness. All of them together is one fierce combination.

There was no shortage of action and wild revelations. I cannot wait to dive into more of their story throughout the series.

Check your triggers. This is a dark one, and not for everyone.

It was fine. It’s a trilogy but I’m pausing after this book. I wish it had a bit more plot than it did. Plus I didn’t feel all that passionately about the almost epilogue chapter cliffhanger.

Read the warning before starting the book.

I'm just going to start by saying that, I read this as a test to myself. Knowing myself, I tend to stay away from dark romance books - I've never understood the appeal and they usually leave a bad taste in my mouth (sometimes I feel like they stain in my very soul). However, having friends who love such books makes you curious and so.... I tried myself with this one and boy did it put me through the wringer.

If you are a sensitive reader like me then just pay heed to the trigger warnings. Do not be like me. I'm dumb. Some of these things include non-con, dub-con, torture, several on page rape scenes - that are brushed off like they are nothing, domestic violence
SpoilerI'm talking about Vas and his slap not the very rough sex things
, knife and blood play (You read ONE FUCKING BOOK about knives and blood during sex - I'm looking at you Den of Vipers and suddenly everyone is into knives and blood during sex
