This wasn’t my favorite in the series and I found a couple things just…weird. Mainly Benedict’s behavior. At one point he tells Sophie if she doesn’t want to have sex then to say no now and she can’t say it later and it was just really weird for me. And the multiple mentions of hitting or hurting women too. Idk not the best.

Momma Brigerton deserves her own book. Just saying.

The story dragged a bit when the main characters needlessly kept secrets from each other, but it was otherwise enjoyable. I enjoyed the Cinderella inspiration, and I liked the was that the author subverted some of the story’s tropes.

Violet Brigerton took on a more important role in this third book of the series, and I must say she is a rather interesting character. I hope she remains important in future novels as well.
