A Magical New York Christmas is a great story. I have never been to New York, and I have always wanted to go at Christmas, and I felt like I was somewhat experiencing it a bit when reading this book! This is a magical tale of taking chances and finding love at The Plaza Hotel.
Sabrina is a struggling writer who is hired by world famous Grayson Prescott as his ghostwriter. Perhaps the biggest perk of this job is that he is paying for her to stay at The Plaza Hotel the week after Christmas so she can be close to him and make the most of his time in New York.
Ian is secretary to Lord Braxton and they have come to New York to deliver the beloved Braxton Jewels to The Met where they will be exhibited. Between planning the opening night banquet for the exhibit and keeping Lord Braxton out of trouble, Ian is a busy man.
One night, Sabrina and Ian cross paths and the rest, well, you will just have to read the book!

A Magical New York Christmas by Anita Hughes is a sweet and fun Christmas read. This is the story of Sabrina and Ian, two people that are not what they seem to each other due to misunderstandings at the beginning of the story. She mistakes him for British royalty, he mistakes her for a wealthy New Yorker. The two of them are drawn to each other and have great chemistry, but neither feels they are 'enough'. The story pretty much completely takes place at The Plaza Hotel in New York City and Eloise plays a huge part as Sabrina is ghostwriting the life story of Grayson Westcott, an art dealer that was once a butler for Kay Thompson, the author of Eloise. This book is my first Christmas book of the season and what a magical one it was to get me super excited for all of the Christmas festivities. Thanks to St Martin's Press and NetGalley for the eARC. All opinions shared are influenced by nothing other than my own reading experience.

Get ready for magical week at the Plaza hotel in NYC.
Sabrina has taken a job ghost writing the memoir of a famous art dealer , Grayson. How lucky for her the job includes a weeks stay at the Plaza Hotel. The first night she meets Ian, a handsome British visitor.
One thing leads to another and we’re smack dab in the middle of a mistaken identity story.
During the course of her interviews with Grayson, Sabrina discovers he used to be a butler at the hotel for Kay Thompson, the author of the Eloise books.
I enjoyed this heartwarming story and finished it in one afternoon. I liked how each chapter concentrated on just one character at a time. It made the story move along quickly. The flashback chapters (Grayson) give a lot of information about Eloise and Kay Thompson. I admit I do not know much about Eloise but foresee a trip the library in the near future.
This book has everything you want in a Christmas story; mistaken identity, fancy parties, sightseeing in NYC during Christmas and most importantly, falling in love.

Very predictable with too much going on. Multiple "love stories" being told at once. The book begins on Christmas Day and spans about a week (prior to epilogue) but constantly makes reference to "It's Christmas, in New York," or "It's Christmas at the Plaza!" Or "It's Christmas, anything can happen."
Overall, the plot seemed annoying and juvenile.
