I'm ready to book my stay at the Plaza this Christmas season and go to the library and check out the Eloise books! This was such a sweet, magical book. It has gotten me in the Christmas spirit but not only that, it's put me in a good mood! This book brought a happy tear to my eye.
This is the story of a freelance writer, Sabrina, who gets an assignment to be a ghost writer for a famous art dealer, Grayson. They are staying at the Plaza in New York between Christmas and New Year's to get the book done. While there she meets Ian, who is staying with his best friend Spencer, while working as his personal secretary. This story had a dual timeline but it enhanced the story so much. I loved all the characters, even Spencer, who seemed to be all over the place. I loved all the pop culture references too.
This was such a sweet, clean romance that put a smile on my face and now I'm ready to decorate!
*Thank you to the publisher, St Martin's Press and Netgalley for an advanced copy. Opinions are my own

I found this to be a fun cute read. It didn't scream holiday necessarily, but it was able to portray the holiday atmosphere rather well. I think the thing that didn't make it a 4 or 5 start for me was kind of the lack of intimacy between the characters. I just didn't feel like they were really getting to know each other or really doing much. I guess I just wanted a better look into their dynamic together. It seemed like every time we were about to get to them actually connecting on a deeper level, something would come up and pull one of them away, whether it be Ian getting a phone call or being paranoid about Spencer, or Sabrina needing to get back to work. I just wanted a little more from the characters. I wanted to see them as a "couple" more. Other than that, it was a sweet story and it did feel "magical" at times.

Initially, I was super excited to read the book after I read the blurb, however, the book just fell short for me. The original concept of the story was really cool and I enjoyed the characters, but after a while the plot became predictable. The random flashbacks in the middle of the story, creating a second story-line, slowed the progression of the story and became tedious; as their importance didn't make sense until the end of the book. Overall, I think the idea for the book was intriguing, but the writing style just ended up not being for me.

Lmfao DO NOT READ THIS BOOK!
Seriously, it’s so poorly written. At times I thought I must have skipped a page? So I went back and re read some parts to see that I didn’t, there was just no additional context! The writer just skips from place to place, before you get the chance to find out what’s going on there, she all ready took you to the next! Again so poorly written. I’m glad it’s over, so I can read an entirely different book. Still one star because it was an easy read and just a happy book overall
