Omfg this book made me absolutely feral, okay?! The dynamics in this book isn’t for everyone (lmao but it was for me). Two broken people, two completely different people just working so well to fix one another.
The trauma that sweet Fawn goes through was really hard to read. I also loved reading Clay’s fight against knowing he wanted her, shouldnt, and falling for her anyway. The miscarriage scene was utterly brutal and heartbreaking.
I’m glad the next books about them I could read them all day long!

This couple makes zero sense. First off clay sucks as a mmc he does not express his feelings at all with our fmc. When our fmc fawn tries to bring up very serious topics such as the tape where she needed to find out what really happened the night the baby was conceived he uses sexual pleasure to shut her up and get her to agree with him and whenever she tries to refuse his sexual advantages she eventually gives in because clay is constantly telling her she is his.
Second fawn has zero personality her entire being revolves around calling clay Sir 97 times. Being in love with him within two weeks and not caring for him admitting he could never love her wholely. She disregards her right to figure out who she is on her own without clay and just believes everything that cones out of his lips even after finding out he hid her rape and her miscarried baby's true father from her.
No more to be said in this review since I dnf at 76% I should bot go in too hard on the characters because I did not finish the book but I truly believe it would not have mattered and my opinion would still be the same.

AMAZING!
The ending was such a twist and I can’t wait to read the second book. I wasn’t expecting everything that happened but I was able to finish this within 3 days !

This book was so much better than I expected! Sometimes you just know going into a book (specifically romance) that the story isn't going to be the selling point. These are my 'junk food reads' they're fun but not particularly nutritious and don't have a ton of staying power- I forget them within a year. A combo of the title and cover had me thinking this would fall into that category but oh boy was I pleasantly surprised. This book had a few tropes that aren't necessarily my favorite but they fit in so well with the rest of the story that the overall sum was wayyyy in the positive. The MFC does have some pretty major trauma that is a pivotal part of the story so double check the trigger warnings. I will say Clay is one of the hottest MMC I've read in while.
Man has a wife and another woman whom he shares with his wife, and there's a detailed scene of said woman giving him a blowjob in the 4th chapter. I knew there was gonna be other woman drama, hell his wife appears in the prologue, but graphic sex with other women is a hard no for me, even if it's just the beginning and he hasn't developed feelings yet.
Fawn & Clay
A story at its core about family. It’s also a romance, a mafia tale, erotic and gruesome. It’s all here and if there are warnings, heed them. The SA in this book is very detailed and could certainly trigger someone.
Fawn & Clay are an unlikely match, but they certainly know how to light a fire and keep it hot. She’s looking to be chosen, to belong and ultimately loved. Family isn’t something she knows a lot about at 18, but she has an idea.
“For the past eighteen years, I have scratched at the surface of what a family looks like. I've ripped my nails from their beds trying to get to the core of it. Feel it. It's more than dinners and movies and conversations. More than sharing a space. It's effortless togetherness. Laughter on a hammock. Cradling your wife. Dancing. It's in the resting smile…” (Fawn)
Clay is head of the Cosa Nostra in Australia and married for business but not for romance nor physical intimacy. His wife Aurora is mafia royalty, but she wasn’t groomed to lead. Family is the reason Clay leads. His brothers and their families are why he builds the businesses and continues as the Mayor. When Fawn arrives, he sees revenge and a pretty little burden to play with as he pleases.
It’s intense but oh so good. The heat is scorching and you might find yourself needing more breaks than you thought. Great book & I’m ready for His Pretty Little Queen next.
